Fort Wadsworth, NY: Two Injured in Collision in Staten Island

Fort Wadsworth, NY (May 7, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon, May 7^th, following a collision between multiple vehicles in the town of Fort Wadsworth. According to a spokesman for the FDNY, the accident took place around 2:00 p.m. on Lyman Avenue in the vicinity of Bay Street and involved at least five vehicles.

At this time, it is believed that the collision occurred due to one of the motorists involved crossing over the double yellow line and triggering the crash. Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to assist several parties who were involved in the collision which left debris scattered all across the roadway.

Two of the people involved were promptly taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A Ford Escape and a Ford Fiesta were noted to be two of the vehicles involved but no further details have been provided. The events that led to this accident are under investigation at this time.
