Buffalo, NY – Three Injured Following House Fire on Elmwood Avenue

Buffalo, NY (May 8, 2019) – Fire crews were quickly dispatched to the scene of a three-alarm fire that broke out inside of a home located in Elmwood Village early on Wednesday morning, May 8th. According to authorities, the call concerning the blaze came in around 2:00 a.m. and firefighters were promptly sent to battle the flames at 1074 Elmwood Avenue.
Fire crews fought the massive blaze and were reported to have rescued one man from the second floor during the incident. Emergency medical responders were summoned to the scene, where they transported three men to Erie County Medical Center. At this time, two 60-year-old men were stated as being in critical condition, while a 40-year-old man is currently in stable condition.
Authorities were able to confirm that one of the victims suffered burns and the other two have been intubated for smoke inhalation. Buffalo fire officials are actively investigating a separate fire on a nearby street that they believe was caused by an arsonist. However, there has been no word as to whether or not there is a connection to this incident. The official cause of this fire is yet to be determined.
