Albany, NY – Man Killed in Car Wreck on South Main Avenue

Albany, NY (May 7, 2019) – At an unspecified time on Monday, May 6^th, police and emergency medical crews were summoned to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident that took place on South Main Avenue. One man who was operating the vehicle involved was tragically killed after his car crashed according to authorities.

Police stated that the vehicle was being driven by a man, identified only by the fact that his 20^th birthday was four days away, had two passengers in the car at the time of the crash. According to officials, the driver crashed into a tree along South Main Avenue, prompting responses from authorities.

The driver was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, while his two passengers suffered serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. They are both expected to survive at this time. Investigators believe that speed was likely a factor in the accident, as a witness spotted the vehicle moving at approximately 80 mph before jumping a curb and crashing.
