Smithtown, NY: One Injured in Rollover on Nissequogue River Road

Smithtown, NY (May 5, 2019) – Around 3:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, May 4th, police responded to the scene of a rollover crash that took place on Nissequogue River Road. One person received injuries in the accident.
The Smithtown Fire Department was immediately called to the scene of the accident where they found that one occupant was trapped inside the vehicle. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they confirmed that there was an overturned vehicle that went down off of an embankment following an accident.
Firefighters were only able to extricate the victim after they partially removed the roof. The driver was transported to the Stony Brook University Hospital and treated. They are expected to recover. Nobody else was injured in this crash.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
