Islip, NY: Accident on Southern State Parkway Causes Injuries

Islip, NY (May 5, 2019) – Around 8:52 p.m. on May 4th, police arrived at the scene of a two-car accident on the Southern State Parkway that led to serious injuries to those involved.
An investigation revealed that a Honda with two occupants collided with a Toyota with two occupants. Both of the vehicles had been traveling westbound on the Parkway at the time.
The collision was so serious that the Honda overturned and slid on its roof before it came to a stop in another lane. The operator of the Honda was identified as 63-year-old Georgia Farley, who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police believe that he might have been impaired at the time. His passenger, 68-year-old Robert Dobbins, was also seriously injured and remains in critical condition at the hospital at this time.
The driver of the Toyota was also treated for injuries and the passenger was not injured. At this time, it has been confirmed that Farley was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
