Cortlandt, NY – Man Killed in Fatal Work Accident on Gallows Hill Road

Cortlandt, NY (May 4, 2019) – Authorities were called to the scene of a fatal work accident that took place when a man was electrocuted on Gallows Hill Road. According to police, the accident took place last Sunday.
The man was identified as 56-year-old Carlos Diaz, of Peekskill. Police investigated and found that he was employed by the homeowner as a tree trimmer. However, he suddenly came into contact with the power lines above a tree.
When paramedics arrived at the scene, Diaz was pronounced dead. State Police and various other emergency responders worked at the scene and were unable to save him.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
