Binghamton, NY (May 3, 2019) – Following a fire that was reported to have taken place on Thursday afternoon, May 3rd, a man who was inside the residence was tragically found deceased by responders. The fire occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. inside an apartment located on John Street, according to authorities.
Emergency crews were immediately dispatched to the scene where a blaze broke out for reasons that have not been determined at this time. According to police, the relatively small fire did not take too long to extinguish and the public was never in any danger during the incident.
The victim, who has not been identified, was found dead inside the home and investigators believe that he may have possibly been injured prior to the fire. However, an autopsy has been scheduled in order to determine the exact cause of death.
