Southampton, NY: One Hurt in Rollover that Took Down Power Lines

Southampton, NY (May 2, 2019) – A victim now identified only as Tom McDowell was confirmed to have been the operator of a vehicle that was involved in an injurious accident along County Road 39 on Thursday morning, May 2nd. The crash was reported to have taken place around 11:30 a.m., according to police.
The accident was reported after a motor vehicle rolled over during the incident and subsequently crashed into a utility pole, bring down lines in the roadway. The impact of the accident prompted police and emergency medical crews to the scene on County Road 39 between Magee Street and Sandy Hollow Road.
Paramedics were able to verify that McDowell sustained at least minor injuries in the crash, although there was no report on whether or not he had been hospitalized for treatment. The accident resulted in about a third-of-a-mile stretch of the highway to be closed down for approximately one hour. No further information has been provided at this time.
