North Bay Shore, NY (April 29, 2019) – Police have released the identity of the man who was struck and seriously injured by two vehicles, one of which fled the scene, on Saturday night, April 27th. According to authorities, 63-year-old James Antonelli was hit by two separate vehicles while riding east along Pine Aire Drive on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 10:45 p.m.
Police stated that the first vehicle that struck Antonelli was pulling out of a 7-Eleven parking lot and proceeded to leave the scene immediately after the accident. The impact of the collision sent Antonelli into oncoming traffic, where he was then hit again by a 2004 Mercury. The first vehicle, described as a black, four-door sedan, sped away westbound along Pine Aire Drive.
Emergency medical crews were called to the scene along with police and the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Antonelli is considered to be in serious condition at this time.
