Sullivan, NY: Man Struck, Injured by Tractor-Trailer- Dies

Posted on Friday, April 26th, 2019 at 12:01 am

Sullivan, NY (April 25, 2019) – Tragically, the man who was struck by a tractor-trailer alongside one other person on Wednesday, April 24th, has now passed away from the critical injuries he had suffered. The severe pedestrian accident happened at 12:39 a.m. on Interstate 90 in Madison County, sadly resulting in the death of one other person as well.

According to police, 21-year-old James F. Bowen III and 24-year-old Grace L. Wilson, both of Syracuse, exited a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage in the driving lane of the interstate after the vehicle stopped nearby mile marker 270 for unconfirmed reasons. Bowen and Wilson got out of the vehicle, while one other passenger remained inside.

A 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, operated by 37-year-old Kenneth A. Finn, of Geneva, that was traveling in the passing lane sadly struck Bowen and Wilson. Both parties were immediately transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where Wilson was pronounced dead a short time later. Bowen was stated to be in critical condition but has now died from his injuries. Neither Finn nor the other passenger in the Mirage were injured in the accident.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
