Long Island City, NY, 2yr Old Boy Struck by Hit and Run Cab

Long Island City, Queens, NY (April 26, 2019) – According to authorities, a two-year-old boy was walking across the street with his grandmother when he was sadly struck by a taxi cab that fled the scene on Wednesday morning, April 24^th. This seriously injurious accident was reported to have taken place around 10:40 a.m.

Police were quickly called to the scene at the intersection of 28^th Street and Queens Plaza, where 20-year-old Ramanpreet Singh struck the toddler while driving a 2010 Ford Escape. Singh was reported to have hit the child, identified as Mason Castillo, and then fled the area. Police and emergency medical crews were on the scene shortly after the accident.

Castillo was promptly transported to New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center to be treated for a broken hip, broken leg, and fractured skull. Singh was arrested at his home in Queens on Friday after police linked his cab to the incident.
