Babylon, NY (April 25, 2019) – A two-car crash was reported to have tragically resulted in the death of one teenager and the injuries of two others on Wednesday afternoon, April 24th. According to authorities, the collision took place around 1:30 p.m. on the Southern State Parkway, near Exit 35.
State police confirmed that the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of the parkway when a Toyota Sienna minivan with four occupants collided with a Toyota Camry. The Sienna then went off the roadway and crashed into a tree as the Camry came to stop along the shoulder. Emergency medical crews were immediately called to the scene, along with police, to assist the parties involved.
The driver of the Sienna, identified as Aaron Jagroop, 18, of Queens, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. Two other teenage occupants of that vehicle were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and Stony Brook University Hospital for critical injuries, and a third teenager sustained injuries considered non-life-threatening.
The driver of the Camry was uninjured in the collision and police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into this incident.
