Amherst, NY (April 24, 2019) – A serious collision between two vehicles was reported to have taken place on Niagara Falls Boulevard, between Robinson Road and the Wegmans Plaza entrance, resulting in the closure of the road in that area for several hours. The crash was stated to have occurred around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24th, and the road was not reopened until approximately 3:00 p.m.
According to Amherst police, a 46-year-old man from Ohio was traveling along the boulevard when he collided with another vehicle, operated by a 70-year-old man from North Tonawanda. Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene where they transported the driver from Ohio to Erie County Medical Center. That victims’ injuries have been considered non-life-threatening at this time.
The 70-year-old man involved was reported to have suffered only minor injuries as he was treated at the scene and released. The events that led to this crash are currently being investigated and no charges have been filed.
