Little Neck, Queens, NY (April 17, 2019) – Early on Wednesday morning, April 17th, traffic became snarled after a box truck driver collided with a tractor-trailer along the Long Island Expressway. According to police, the collision occurred around 5:20 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the expressway, in the vicinity of Little Neck Parkway.
Emergency medical crews were summoned to the scene along with police after the driver of a box truck crashed into the rear end of a tractor-trailer for reasons that have not been confirmed. Paramedics who were dispatched to the crash site stated that the driver of the box truck sustained injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The eastbound lanes of the expressway were closed down for a short period of time as crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
