German Flatts, NY (April 7, 2019) – Police say that a truck driver was killed in a truck accident involving two tractor-trailers that took place early morning yesterday on the New York State Thruway.
The accident happened around 7:22 a.m., between exits 29A and 30, and involved two tractor-trailers.
Police concluded that one truck experienced a mechanical issue and came to a stop in the right lane while another tractor-trailer struck the broken truck from behind. The accident happened with such force that it killed the driver of the truck that had been stopped.
The driver of the truck that rammed into the other was injured and transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, but is expected to be okay.
The accident is still under investigation.
