Brooklyn, NY (April 7, 2019) – Police continue to search for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of 47th Street and Ninth Avenue. The accident led to injuries in one teenager.
Police have taken a look at surveillance videos, where they found that a woman’s Dodge Challenger struck a 14-year-old girl. The accident was so forceful that the teen flew through the air into the center of the intersection.
The young accident victim survived but she had serious bruising to her legs and torso and was rushed to the Maimonides Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The driver got out of her vehicle after striking the teen to check on the victim but then fled the scene. The woman’s vehicle had Georgia plates and she was described as a medium build and between 35-40 years old.
A witness called 911 for help for the teen. Police continue to investigate the accident.
