Canton, NY (April 4, 2019) – On Thursday, April 4th, authorities publicly announced the arrest of a man from Rensselaer Falls who has been charged with felony first-degree sex abuse of a child. According to police, 47-year-old Christopher A. Lewis, of 450 Johnson Road, Rensselaer Falls, was arrested and charged on March 21st.
Lewis was reported by State Trooper to have had sexual contact with a 5-year-old child around 8:35 p.m. on August 23, 2018. In addition to charges for the sexual abuse of a child, Lewis is also facing charges of misdemeanor acting in a manner injurious to a child. There have been no details or identifying information concerning the child victim made available.
According to authorities, Lewis was arraigned in Town Court and ultimately transported to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. There has been no further information provided at this time.
