Staten Island, NY (March 29, 2019) – On Thursday afternoon, March 28th, the FDNY responded to a crash that left a vehicle overturned along the West Shore Expressway. The accident was reported to have taken place at approximately 4:50 p.m. at the Arthur Kill Road exit of the expressway, according to authorities.
A spokesman for the FDNY stated that a small fire broke out as a result of the crash that left one person with unspecified injuries. Emergency medical crews were immediately called to the scene, where they transported the victim to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze. The current condition of that victim has not been reported at this time.
Though authorities stated that the accident resulted in serious delays while crews worked to remove the vehicles involved and clear debris, there has been no mention of the number of vehicles involved in the crash. Authorities are likely to be conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this incident.
