Depauville, NY (March 29, 2019) – Authorities have now released the identity of a man who was seriously injured after his car became pinned underneath a tractor-trailer. The accident was reported to have occurred on Thursday morning, March 28th, at the intersection of Route 12 and Route 180 in Gunns Corners.
According to police, 29-year-old Aaron C. Woodward, of Clayton, had been traveling south along Route 12 when the driver of a tractor-trailer failed to yield the right of way and entered the intersection from Route 180. The truck operator, identified as 39-year-old Ernesto Piscil-Morales, had been heading north along Route 180 at the time of the accident.
Medical crews from Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service responded to the incident, where they transported Woodward to Samaritan Medical Center. Authorities have not stated the exact condition of the victim, although he was reported to have been admitted into the hospital with a head injury.
Law enforcement and fire departments were also called to the scene, where the entire hood of Woodward’s vehicle had been lodged underneath the truck. No further details have been reported at this time.
