Buffalo, NY (March 25, 2019) – Just before 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23rd, a police car was reported to have been struck by two other vehicles, resulting in at least one injured victim. The collision was stated to have taken place on Elmwood Avenue, directly in front of the Regal Cinema.
According to police, two cars struck the officers’ vehicle for reasons that are currently being investigated by authorities. At this time, it is unclear as to whether or not the officer had their sirens or emergency lights activated, but there has been no word concerning any charges being filed against either of the other drivers.
Emergency medical personnel was called to the crash site, where the officer was promptly transported to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for at least minor injuries. The officer has since been released from the hospital. There has been no information released concerning the other parties involved or any other injuries.
Weather may have been a factor but the investigation is ongoing.
