Lindenhurst, NY (March 24, 2019) – One person was killed in a fatal accident when a man from West Babylon struck him after a fight outside of a bar. The accident happened early Saturday morning
41-year-old Shatik Canady is now facing charges of first-degree manslaughter of the accident that led to the death of 28-year-old Kawon Williams.
Police say that, before the incident, Canady and Williams were involved in a fight around 5:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the Brewhaus Pub on Wellwood Avenue. Canady intentionally got inside his vehicle and ran over Williams and then fled the scene.
Williams was taken to the hospital where he was allegedly pronounced deceased. Williams’ godsister attempted to revive him following the incident but was unable to successfully do so.
Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
