Cheektowaga, NY (March 24, 2019) – On February 13th, state police responded to the scene of a hit-and-run accident that led to injuries as well as property damages. Now, police have arrested the man responsible for causing the collision.
The accident took place when two vehicles sideswiped one another on Interstate 90, near exit 52E. A victim got out and was standing in front of Niklaus Kristiansson’s Explorer, which is when the 34-year-old pulled away and struck the victim, causing him to slide across the hood of the vehicle. He received non-life-threatening injuries.
Kristiansson was arrested on March 21st and taken to SP Buffalo, where he was charged with third-degree assault several traffic violations.
The victim has since recovered from his injuries. Police say that Kristiansson fled the scene without checking to ensure that the victim was okay.
The police investigation continues at this time.
