Bensonhurst, NY (March 23, 2019) – On March 20th of this past week, a 42-year-old woman and a three-year-old child were injured following a serious pedestrian accident.
At the time, the two were crossing the street at Avenue P when, all of a sudden, a vehicle turned left and struck the two in a school zone. It was confirmed that the two were hospitalized.
The accident allegedly took place around 11:30 a.m. by the Lucretia Marcigliano Campus building, an area that is home to various schools in the neighborhood. Police say that Avenue P is a school zone, which means that drivers must take care to avoid these accidents at all costs.
The man who struck the two was identified as a 58-year-old driving a 2016 Ford. The pedestrian signal was on “walk” at the time.
The woman and the child are expected to recover following this serious accident. Police continue their investigation at this time.
