Hudson, NY (March 21, 2019) – A two-vehicle collision that resulted in injuries on Wednesday afternoon, March 21st, is currently being investigated by police. The accident was reported to have happened between a car and a D.A.R.E vehicle at the intersection of North 6th Street and Columbia Street.
Police stated that a car being operated by 18-year-old Monish Patel had been carrying one passenger when he struck the officer’s vehicle. The officer operating the vehicle was identified as Officer Jacob Hoffman, according to authorities. Emergency medical crews were immediately called to the scene to attend to any victims.
Both Hoffman and the passenger in Patel’s vehicle, identified only as a 16-year-old were taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital. The extent of the victims’ injuries has not been reported at this time.
Patel is facing charges for driving while ability impaired by drugs and possession of marijuana, among other violations. No further information has been reported.
