Hadley, NY – Man Found Dead Following Snowmobile Crash

Hadley, NY (March 20, 2019) – State Police located the body of a man who was reported to have gone missing after heading out on a snowmobile on Tuesday, March 19th, around 10:00 p.m. John Brockway, 50, of Hadley, was found deceased Wednesday, March 20th, at approximately 11:00 a.m.
According to authorities, Brockway had left his home on a snowmobile and failed to return, prompting family to alert the police. A search was launched Wednesday morning with assistance from the Department of Environment Conservation, State Police aviation, and snowmobiles, as well as Forest Rangers.
The victims’ body was found deceased near his home and his death appears to have been the result of a relatively low-speed accident, according to authorities. A thoroughly detailed investigation is currently working to determine whether or not another party, mechanical failure, or any other factors were involved in the accident.
