Pittstown, NY (March 17, 2019) – On Saturday night, March 16th, police responded to a mobile home fire that happened at 13 Birch Way and took the life of one man.
The man allegedly passed away after his mobile home was fully engulfed in flames. Police say that there were several explosions and they determined quickly that several oxygen tanks exploded, causing the fire.
Firefighting crews took around 30 minutes to knock down the fire and they were able to locate the man inside the home.
The man’s neighbor, 22-year-old Virginia Seymour, was able to identify the man as Robert Thomas. She said that she woke up to pounding on her door late last night. She looked outside and saw flames everywhere.
The fire is still under investigation by fire investigators and police. The cause is still being determined.
