Forestport, NY (March 16, 2019) – On Wednesday morning around 8 a.m., police responded to the scene of a serious house fire where three people were injured in Forestport. The incident took place on Woodhull Road and completely engulfed the home in fire.
At least three people were transported to the hospital for injuries related to smoke inhalation but they are expected to recover. The two-story home was completely destroyed in the incident and low temps made it difficult for firefighters to fight off the blaze.
A portion of the home collapsed while the fire was being fought and they had to cut power to the home.
The home was considered to be a total loss. At this time, the Red Cross is assisting the family.
