Fleming, NY (March 15, 2019) – On Thursday night, March 14, an Auburn woman caused a collision that resulted in injuries at the traffic circle on Route 38 in Fleming, according to state police. Cayuga County dispatchers stated that the call concerning the incident came in at around 8:50 p.m., prompting responses from police and emergency medical crews.
21-year-old Brooke A. Joy, of Greenview Circle, had been traveling south along Route 38 when she failed to yield to another vehicle, operated by 45-year-old Shawn M. Garrigan, of Auburn. The force of the collision caused Garrigan’s vehicle to overturn, according to state police. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collision.
Police reported that Garrigan and an unidentified passenger were immediately taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Both victims were stated to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. Joy was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way, and whether or not she suffered any injuries has not been reported.
