Brooklyn, NY (March 12, 2019) – One person was stated to have been struck by a train on Monday afternoon, March 11th, according to authorities. The serious accident took place around 4:00 p.m. at the Rockaway Avenue station.
Officials reported the incident, although no details have been provided concerning exactly how the accident took place. Authorities have not stated why the victim ended up in the path of the train, but EMS were dispatched to the scene, along with the NYPD, in order to assess the accident and render aid to the victim.
Paramedics who responded to the incident did not provide any information on the condition of the victim at this time. Severe delays followed the incident as A and C train service had to be suspended from Jay Street/MetroTech to Broadway Junction. This incident is currently under investigation by authorities, as no further details have been provided concerning the cause of the accident or the identity of the victim.
