Patchogue, Long Island, NY (March 11, 2019) – A fire was reported to have broken out early Monday morning, March 11th, that tragically resulted in the deaths of two women, according to authorities. The blaze was stated to have started around 1:30 a.m. at a home located on Sinn Street.
The fire was initially reported by a part-time resident of the home, who had arrived at the house to retrieve some belongings. Firefighters quickly responded and were able to pull one person, identified as a 47-year-old man, from the basement of the home. After gaining entry into the house, firefighters discovered two females identified as Brenda Richardson, 56, and Kimberly Bonsignore, 54, inside the home. Both women were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
While the official cause of the fire is currently under investigation, authorities reported that there were no working smoke detectors inside the home. Three police officers were also confirmed to have suffered minor injuries during the incident.
