Hyde Park, NY (March 11, 2019) – On the morning of Sunday, March 10th, police were immediately called to the scene of a fatal traffic collision between a 2005 Honda CRV and a tractor-trailer on Albany Post Road/Route 9. The deadly accident was reported to have taken place around 11:45 a.m.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Mindy R. Dohrenwend, of Hyde Park, had been driving the Honda northbound along Route 9 when she likely lost control of the vehicle. Dohrenwend veered into the opposite lane, subsequently colliding with an oncoming 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer has been identified as Alexander M. Lunan Marrison, 49, of Brooklyn.
Police were accompanied at the scene by Northern Dutchess Paramedics, where Dohrenwend was tragically pronounced dead. No further information has been released at this time.
Our deepest condolences are wholeheartedly extended to the loved ones of Mindy R. Dohrenwend during this tragic and devastating time. Unfortunately, truck accidents in New York are commonly fatal or seriously injurious, typically because of the sheer size and power of such large vehicles. While it can be terribly challenging, it is extremely important for the bereaved family to know that they may have substantial rights at this time.
