Gates, NY (March 9, 2019) – On Friday night, police reported that two people had to be taken to the hospital for treatment after being struck in a pedestrian accident. The accident took place at a plaza near the intersection of Lyell Avenue and Howard Road.
The two pedestrians were identified as a man and a woman, both in their 70s. They had been walking across the plaza parking lot when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle that had been traveling at a low speed.
The two were transported to the Unity Hospital. Neither received life-threatening injuries and they were both treated.
No charges have been filed. Police believe that sun glare might have played a role, but they intend to continue their investigation.
