Colonie, NY (March 7, 2019) – A man was reported to have suffered a serious head injury following a pedestrian accident that took place on Wolf Road on Thursday morning, March 7th. Police stated that the collision between a man and a vehicle happened around 8:00 a.m. for reasons that have not been determined at this time.
According to police, the victim, identified only as a 65-year-old man from Troy, had been walking in the crosswalk at the intersection of Wolf Road and Sand Creek Road when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 58-year-old Kathy J. Cioppa, of Colonie, remained at the scene of the accident and police do not suspect that any drugs or alcohol were involved.
Emergency medical crews immediately transported the injured victim to Albany Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. At this time, the Colonie Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is in charge of the investigation into this incident.
