Sodus, NY (March 6, 2019) – A three-car collision that injured a Wayne County sergeant was reported to have happened on Tuesday morning, March 5th. According to authorities, the accident took place on Route 104 at Redman Road at a time that has not been specified.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the crash, along with multiple other agencies. Deputies stated that Sergeant Gilbert Sterk was idle on Route 104, waiting to turn onto Redman Road, when a vehicle being operated by 31-year-old Jared Sherwin rear-ended the sergeant. The impact of the crash sent Sergeant Sterk’s vehicle into the oncoming lane, where he then struck another vehicle.
Emergency medical crews were quickly called to the scene and transported both Sterk and Sherwin to Strong Memorial Hospital. The third driver involved was unharmed in the crash and Sterk was reported to have since been released from the hospital.
