Eltingville, NY – Elderly Man Killed in House Fire on Staten Island

Eltingville, NY (March 6, 2019) – The FDNY responded to a house fire at 461 Oakdale Street on Wednesday night, March 6th. According to authorities. 12 FDNY vehicles and over 65 firefighters and EMS were summoned to the blaze that broke out at 6:44 p.m.

Emergency medical crews arrived at the scene and assisted as they transported a male victim with critical injuries to Staten Island University Hospital in Prince’s Bay. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The deceased victim has only been identified as an 86-year-old man, as his name will be released after loved ones are notified.

Firefighters at the scene were reported to have had the blaze under control by approximately 7:17 p.m. At this time, authorities are conducting a thorough investigation in order to determine the cause of the fire.
