Staten Island, NY (March 4, 2019) – Emergency medical crews and police were promptly dispatched to the northbound lanes of the Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway in response to a serious accident Monday morning, March 4th. The crash, which left one vehicle overturned onto its roof, was reported to have happened at around 11:34 a.m. in the vicinity of Forest Avenue.
A spokesman for the FDNY stated that two people were inside the overturned vehicle, and one of those individuals was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. According to authorities, the hospitalized victim is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, but there was no word on the condition of the other party involved.
Police were reported to have used a chain to right the upside-down vehicle and there has been no information released on any other vehicles that may have played a role in the crash. Police are likely conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this incident, but no further details have been provided.
