Jackson Heights, Queens, NY (March 4, 2019) – According to police, a pedestrian was tragically struck and killed by an MTA bus on Monday, March 4, around 3:00 a.m., on Roosevelt Avenue.
Authorities stated that the crash occurred between an unidentified 55-year-old man and a Q33 MTA bus shortly after the bus turned off Roosevelt Avenue. Emergency medical crews, along with police, were immediately called to the scene of the incident, where they promptly transported the severely injured victim to Elmhurst Hospital Center. He was sadly pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.
The driver of the bus was reported to have remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. At this time, police and officials from MTA are conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this accident. Neither the identity of the victim nor any other information has been released.
