Brooklyn, NY (March 3, 2019) – On Thursday, February 28th, police responded to a bicycle accident involving a tanker truck that led to fatal injuries in one person. The accident took place on Broadway just west of Rodney Street.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident, they found that a 25-year-old female bicyclist was unconscious and unresponsive. She was found lying in the roadway with various types of trauma throughout her body.
EMS arrived at the scene of the accident and officially pronounced the cyclist deceased.
Witnesses said that either a grey or silver tanker truck had been traveling eastbound and approaching the intersection when the truck struck the bicyclist. The vehicle continued onward after it struck the bicyclist.
At this time, there have been no arrests and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
