Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY (March 1, 2019) – A 25-year-old bicyclist was tragically struck and killed by a motor vehicle, believed to be a truck, that fled the scene after the incident. The accident was reported to have taken place around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night, February 28.
According to police, the young woman was found lying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive in the vicinity of Broadway and Rodney Street. Emergency medical technicians were immediately called to the accident site, although the victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The bicyclist had been traveling eastbound along Broadway when the driver of the vehicle involved had been heading eastbound on the same roadway, approaching Rodney Street when the collision occurred. Following the accident, the driver kept traveling eastbound and did not stop to offer assistance or cooperate with authorities.
