Lake Ronkonkoma, NY (February 26, 2019) – Part of the Long Island Expressway was closed down due to a crash that was reported to have occurred in the vicinity of Exit 61 on Tuesday morning, February 26. According to police, a multi-car crash took place for reasons that have not been determined.
Police who arrived at the scene stated that several vehicles were involved in the collision. A pickup truck, which had ultimately overturned due to the impact of the accident, resulted in the bulk of injuries. Emergency medical crews who arrived at the scene were able to state that all those involved suffered at least minor injuries, although none of the reported wounds appear to be serious at this time.
All westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway were closed down as police began their initial investigation. At this time, there has been no further information made available.
