Albany, NY (February 25, 2019) – A total of three people were immediately transported to Albany Medical Center following a crash involving five cars that was caused by a reckless driver on Monday, February 25. Police reported that the collision happened after an unidentified woman in a green Honda Accord had been passing cars in the opposite lane along Western Avenue.
The woman was stated to have been speeding down the aforementioned road and passing vehicles by traveling into oncoming traffic. Subsequently, the woman crashed into another car, which sent that vehicle crashing into a parked pickup truck, ultimately damaging two other vehicles as well.
According to police, two unidentified males were in the second vehicle. The driver, a 42-year-old man, sustained a broken arm in the collision, while his father, who was a passenger, was hospitalized as a precaution. The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries after her vehicle flipped onto its roof in front of Dragon City Restaurant.
No one else was injured and police have not released any other information at this time.
