Inwood, NY – Man Lost His Leg After Train Accident in Manhattan

Inwood, NY (February 23, 2019) – Police say that one man was seriously injured in a train accident that took place when he was riding between subway cars in Manhattan.

Police say that the man fell into the tracks and was immediately struck by the train. The incident took place around 1 a.m. on Thursday at West 207th Street train station.

When FDNY arrived at the scene of the accident, they confirmed that the man was struck by the train. They turned off power to the tracks and extricated the victim from under the wheels of the train.

Paramedics confirmed that there was trauma to both of the victim’s legs and one of them had to be amputated. The victim was unconscious but stable when he was transported to the hospital.

Police confirmed that seven people have died in 2018 due to riding between subway cars, which is a dangerous act.
