Marion, NY (February 19, 2019) – The victim of a fire that was reported to have happened around 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, has now been positively identified as 80-year-old Beatrice Murray. The fire which tragically claimed her life took place at her home on Cory Corners Road.
According to authorities, the fire broke out and prompted responses from multiple fire departments and emergency medical services. The grandson of the victim attempted to enter the residence after receiving a call concerning the fire, although he was overwhelmed by smoke and flames.
Murray is currently reported as a long-time resident of the household who was beloved by her family. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation at this time, as this is a developing story. No further information has been made available.
