Manchester, NY (February 18, 2019) – Authorities reported on a fire that took place Friday afternoon, February 15, at the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park. The fire was stated to have happened at around 1:18 p.m. at a home located inside the park, for reasons that are believed to be related to a problem with a hot water heater.
According to the Ontario County Management Office, the Manchester Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Farmington, Clifton Springs, and Shortsville Fire Departments. Emergency medical crews who arrived at the scene attended to one injured victim who had suffered burns to his head. One firefighter was also injured in the blaze.
The injured civilian was reported as the homeowner who may have been working with the hot water heater when the fire broke out. His condition has not been stated at this time. The injured firefighter was hospitalized with lacerations and the extent of injuries has not been reported. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
