Brooklyn, NY (February 18, 2019) – According to police, the owner and operator of a hot dog stand in downtown Brooklyn was injured after a construction accident that occurred on Monday afternoon, February 18. The incident was reported to have taken place near a structure that is under construction on Fulton Street.
Authorities stated that the victim, identified only as a hot dog vendor, was struck and injured by a wooden constriction wall that fell from its placement. The wall was reported to have tumbled and fallen onto the vendors’ food stand for reasons that have not yet been determined.
Emergency medical crews arrived to render aid to the injured party who has suffered unclear injuries due to the accident. It is not immediately known as to whether or not the victim was transported to a hospital but they are recovering at this time. An investigation into the incident is likely to be ongoing.
Working construction is known to be a difficult and dangerous job due to heavy materials and equipment, as well as the usage of sharp and heavy tools.
