Mount Hope, NY (February 17, 2019) – In the Bronx, an officer who was gravely injured has now been tragically pronounced deceased. The fatal accident that took his life happened earlier this week.
The officer has been identified as 22-year-old Richard Lue, who passed away yesterday due to his injuries after his car was launched over a concrete barrier on the Cross Bronx Expressway near Webster Avenue and into the path of a truck. He was still in the beginning stages of his job at Rikers Island at the time.
One other person also lost their life at the time of the accident, identified as 28-year-old Jaquan Cesar, of Beacon. He had been trying to help injured parties in the multi-vehicle accident that took his life.
