Oneonta, NY (February 16, 2019) – Last night around 6:54 p.m., New York State Police responded to a pedestrian accident that took place near the Walmart on State Route 23.
Police investigated and found that a pedestrian was walking on the roadway, when they suddenly walked right into the path of a vehicle on the roadway. The pedestrian was identified as 62-year-old Steven Grant of Oneonta.
Grant was treated at the scene of the accident by Oneonta EMS and then transported to the Walmart parking lot before being airlifted to the hospital. Since then, it has been confirmed that he received serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 31-year-old male who has been cooperating with officers. No tickets have been issued.
The investigation into the matter continues.
