Manhattan, NY (February 16, 2019) – Yesterday morning around 6:00 a.m., a woman was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place at a local intersection.
Police responded to the intersection of East 37th Street and Third Avenue to find that a woman was struck and killed by an oil truck. The pedestrian was identified as Sarah Foster, who was struck by an oil truck allegedly owned by Approved Oil.
Police say that the 27-year-old school teacher was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was identified as 51-year-old Steven McDermott, of Brooklyn, who stayed at the scene of the accident. He was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Police continue their investigation of the accident at this time.
