Bangor, NY – Two-Car Accident on County Route 19 Sends One Person to Hospital

Bangor, NY (February 16, 2019) – Police reported that a two-car accident that sent one person to the hospital took place at the intersection of County Routes 8 and 19.

The accident happened when a man named Brady Hankins, traveling south on County Route 19 while pulling a trailer with his Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, failed to stop at the intersection with County Route 8 and collided with another vehicle.

That vehicle, a Toyota Rav-4, was being operated by 34-year-old Sheena Smith, who had been traveling east at the time and was unable to avoid striking Hankins.

Smith was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries, including complaints of chest pain. Hankins received tickets for failing to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign, failing to stop at a stop sign, and having an unregistered trailer.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
