Buffalo, NY (February 13, 2019) – After colliding with a police vehicle late Tuesday night, February 12, Buffalo Police charged a man for driving while intoxicated. The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Lisbon Avenue and Bailey Avenue resulted in injuries and prompted responses from paramedics and police.
The crash happened at around 11:30 p.m., when 27-year-old Jahaan McDuffie, of Buffalo, collided with a police vehicle. According to police, the officer had his lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash.
Emergency medical crews were sent to the scene where they transported at least one party to a nearby hospital. The extent of the victims’ injuries has not been confirmed, although police reported that the injured party was a police officer.
McDuffie has been charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, and failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle, as the events that led to this incident are actively under investigation.
